[NAMES OF CURRENT BLACK SOULS WILL BE FOUND HERE.]

CW: ABILITIES FOR BLACK SOULS INCLUDE DISCUSSIONS OF INSECTS AND CORPSES.
00
ABILITIES
• Cadaver Dog. The user can immediately detect and accurately locate a nearby corpse.
• Limitations: Can only locate a corpse up to 1 mile (1.6 km) away.
• Darkvision. The user can see in complete darkness as if it were dim light.
• Overall Limitations. Cannot yet manipulate shadows or decay.
01
ABILITES
• Shadow Puppets. The user can start to produce small shadows that move freely.
• Limitations: Can only create three (3) small shadows that are half (1/2) or less of the user's size, and while they can be touched, do not have a tangible or understandable shape. Shadows can only move up to 3 feet (0.91 meters) away from the user.
• Blur. The user can begin to learn the very basics of invisibility.
• Limitations: Can only make appendages (paws, tail, head, etc) mostly invisible. In full and bright lighting, an outline will be visible to onlookers. This affect lasts for five (5) minutes.
• Wilt. The user can begin to learn the very basics of decaying organic matter.
• Limitations: This only affects plant or insects and they must be touched. This state of moderate decay is not permanent, and the plant or insect will bounce back to its original state after a period of time.
02
ABILITIES
• Inkblots. The user can produce medium-sized shadows that freely move and attack on will.
• Limitations: Can only create up to three (3) shadows of a similar size of the user, or one (1) shadow up to two times (2x) larger than the user at a time (ie. three average-sized cats, or one average-sized dog). Shadows can now attack targets, but can only move up to 5 feet (1.52 meters) away from the user in any direction. Shadows have a tangible and formed shaped, and will disperse when struck.
• Half Seen. The user gains a better understanding of invisibility.
• Limitations: Can only make half of their body completely translucent, or all of their body slightly visible. In full and bright lighting, others may see a completely translucent half-body or appendage with a visible shimmer or warble. This affect lasts for ten (10) minutes.
• Blight. The user gains a better understanding of decaying organic matter.
• Limitations: This can only effect small animals, or the limbs of someone or something of a similar size to the user. Any affected area must be touched. This state of moderate decay is not permanent to small animals or limbs, and it will heal, but it can kill insects and fragile plants.
03
ABILITIES
• Shadow Wielder. The user can produce large-sized shadows that can freely move and attack on will.
• Limitations: Can only create up to three (3) large shadows, or one (1) shadow up to three times (3x) larger than the user at a time (ie. three average-sized dogs, or one average-sized cougar or black bear). Shadows can now attack targets, but can only move up to 15 feet (4.57 meters) away from the user in any direction. Shadows have a tangible and formed shaped, and will disperse when taking moderate damage.
• Darkness. The user can create total darkness around a fixed point.
• Limitations: The user can only cast darkness 10 feet (3.04 meters) around a fixed radius. This affect lasts for ten (10) minutes.
• Risen. The user can begin to use the basics of necromancy.
• Limitations: Can only summon up to three (3) corpses of creatures smaller than the user (ie. average-sized rat or rabbit). These corpses can only move 10 feet (3.04 meters) away from the user in any direction and can attack at will. Corpses will collapse after being struck, or after ten (10) minutes after being summoned.
• Wither. The user has gained enough understanding of decaying matter that it now extends to inorganic material.
• Limitations: This can only effect creatures of a similar size or smaller than the user, or inorganic material (ie. plastic, stone) no larger than the user's paw. Any affected area must be touched. This state of decay on organic and living material can be non-permanent or permanent based on the will of the user. Decay of inorganic material is always permanent.
04
ABILITIES
• Shadow Mage. The user can produce very large shadows that can freely move and attack on will.
• Limitations: Can only create up to three (3) very large shadows, or one (1) shadow up to four times (4x) larger than the user at a time (ie. three caracals, or one average-sized tiger or brown bear). Shadows can attack targets, but can only move up to 20 feet (6.09 meters) away from the user in any direction. Shadows have a tangible and formed shape, and will disperse when taking substantial damage.
• Disappearing Act. The user has begun to master invisibility.
• Limitations: Can make their entire body completely invisible, but can still be detected by sound and potentially strong smells (ie. blood, illness, ointments). This affect lasts for thirty (30) minutes.
• Summoner. The user can gained a better understanding of necromancy.
• Limitations: Can only summon up to three (3) corpses of creatures of a similar size to the user or one (1) corpse larger than the user (ie. three average-sized cats or one average-sized dog). These corpses can only move 15 feet (4.57 meters) away from the user in any direction and can attack at will. Corpses will collapse after taking moderate damage, or after ten (10) minutes after being summoned.
• Canker. The user has gained enough understanding of decaying matter that it now extends to inorganic material.
• Limitations: This can only effect creatures up to two times (2x) larger than the user, or inorganic material (ie. plastic, stone) of a similar size to the user. Any affected area must be touched. This state of decay on organic and living material can be non-permanent or permanent based on the will of the user. Decay of inorganic material is always permanent.
05

Shadows have a tangible and formed shape, and will disperse when taking lethal damage.

• Limitations: Can only summon up to three (3) corpses of creatures larger than the user, or one (1) corpse of a creature up to three times (3x) larger than the user (ie. three average-sized dogs or one average-sized mountain lion). These corpses can only move 20 feet (6.09 meters) away from the user in any direction. Corpses will collapse after being struck, or after ten (10) minutes after being summoned.
• Plague. The user has mastered decaying organic and inorganic matter.
• Limitations: This can only effect creatures up to three times (3x) larger than the user, or inorganic material (ie. plastic, stone) up to two times (2x) larger than the user. Any affected area must be touched. This state of decay on organic and living material can be non-permanent or permanent based on the will of the user. Decay of inorganic material is always permanent.
SIDE EFFECTS: For Black Souls, they are stereotypically absolutists and drawn to ideals that are more cynical; perhaps from exposure to death, or simple world-weariness, there is a sense of being jaded. As a result, they may be overcome with a nihilism that makes life appear meaningless, which can cause reckless actions that can put themselves and team in danger, along with misunderstandings about grief that can affect relationships.
