CAMPAIGN
STOPPING TOMORROW is structured similar to other Paradise-style campaigns such as The Paradise Effect; while it includes several mechanics of a modified D&D and Pathfinder format with a set ending, it also hosts a several Chapter story and Soul Class and Soul Partner dynamic unique to Paradise-style campaigns.
This campaign aims to have 80 max Players at the start of the Prologue, all of which will have an overall effect on the world and what may occur during the ending of the plot.
This campaign has an official ending, and will not continue indefinitely after the events of the Epilogue.
STOPPING TOMORROW is currently broken into five (5) Chapters, along with a Prologue and Epilogue to open and close the story.
The flow of chapters is found below:
PROLOGUE --> DOWNTIME 0 --> CHAPTER 1 --> DOWNTIME 1 --> CHAPTER 2 --> DOWNTIME 2 CHAPTER 3 --> DOWNTIME 3 --> CHAPTER 4 --> DOWNTIME 4 --> CHAPTER 5 --> DOWNTIME 5 EPILOGUE
Each Chapter will take place over the course of one (1) to two (2) months, depending on narrative and Checkpoint progression, with a Downtime following that lasts from two (2) to three (3) months as a break before the next Chapter.
Each Chapter has a minimum post limit. There is a five (5) post minimum through the course of each ongoing Chapter, with a deadline announced; failure to meet this post requirement (unless the Player has previously discussed a hiatus with staff) means a Player Character will be killed in a way that fits into the narrative, and this status is permanent.
It is recommended and expected for Players to appear with semi-frequency throughout the course of a Chapter to assist with the balance and flow of the narrative and to build dynamics with other Player Characters, and respond to any challenges through at a Player's Team or Character.
DOWNTIMES
Downtimes, otherwise known as Interims in other Paradise-style campaigns, are present to allow the GM and Players a chance to relax, and explore the world of STOPPING TOMORROW at your leisure; this is an opportunity to place your Character in unique environments and explore dynamics with others, or simply sit back and breathe while awaiting the next Chapter. There will be small events, hints, and puzzles throughout each Downtime, but these are not mandatory to participate in. Posting is NOT a requirement during Downtimes.
