PURPLE SOUL

ABILITIES

• Star Gazer. The user can pick out constellations, aiding with directional travel and changing of seasons.

• Cold Tolerance. The user is unaffected by uncomfortably low temperatures.

• Limitations: Can only withstand external temperatures at 0°f (17.7°c) or higher.

 

• Weighing Scales. The user can instantly tell the weight of an object.

• Limitations: The user can only lift this object physically, but can tell the weight accurately.

• Overall Limitations. Cannot yet manipulate ice, or utilize telekinesis or teleportation.

ABILITES

• Morning Frost. The user can create small shards of frost and ice from their whiskers and claws that they can hurl at others.

• Limitations: The user can only generate four (4) shards at a time, no bigger or wider than their own claws or whiskers.

• Sharp Grass. The user can cause thin ice or frost to form on small surfaces.

• Limitations: The frost or ice can only extend in a 5 feet (1.5 meters) radius from the user. They cannot coat living animals in ice.

• Teeth Chattering. The user can lower the temperature of their environment suddenly.

 • Limitations: Can only lower the temperature to its freezing point pf 32°f (0°c). This effect only lasts for ten (10) minutes and only effects a 10 foot (3.04 meters) radius around a fixed point.

 • Overall Limitations. Cannot yet utilize telekinesis or teleportation.

ABILITIES

• Blink. The user can begin to learn the basics of teleportation.

 • Limitations: The teleport can only shift them as far as 10 feet (3.04 meters) away from their original position. Only has three (3) uses a Chapter.

• Icicles. The user can generate spears of ice from their claws, pelt, whiskers or teeth that can be hurled at others.

• Limitations: The user can only craft three (3) spears at a given time, and those spears can only be half as long as the user's body.

 • Scale Shift.  The user can begin to affect the weight of small objects they can see, making it lighter or heavier.

• Limitations: The object must be in the user's line of sight. Objects must be 10 lbs (4.5 kgs) or less, and must be smaller than the user. The weight change only lasts for a few seconds.

• Borealis. The user can utilize cold to generate a ribbon of loose and floating light.

• Limitations: This light is only as large as their paws. The light will only linger in a radius 10 feet (3.04 meters) around the user. It crackles audibly, which may alert unknown targets nearby. It lasts for ten (10) minutes.

ABILITIES

• Ice Coating. The user can begin to coat parts of themselves in ice.

• Limitations: The user can only coat two (2) appendages at a time (ie. limbs, tail).  

 

• Frostbite. The user can inflict freezing damage to targets they touch by coating a part of them in ice. 

• Limitations: Must have direct contact with the target. Can prevent a target in similar size to the user from effectively attacking for two (2) actions by freezing limbs or mouth upon critical success.

• Ice Knives. The user can generate stronger, sharper spears of ice from their claws, pelt, whiskers or teeth that can be hurled at others.

• Limitations: The user can only craft four (4) spears at a given time, and those spears can only be as long as their body.

• Pull. The user can begin to understand the basics of telekinesis, lifting or manipulating items in their line of sight.

• Limitations: The object must be in line of sight. The object cannot be more than 20 lbs (9.07 kgs) in weight, and no larger than they are. They cannot lift the object higher than 10 feet (3.04 meters) upwards, and cannot make them move when in the air. They may use this to open closed doors as long as they are not locked or otherwise blocked or barred.

ABILITIES

• Gravity. The user has developed a stronger understanding of telekinesis, lifting or manipulating items they know the position of, including themselves or others.

• Limitations: The user does not have to have the object in line of sight, but must know where it is. The object cannot be more than 50 lbs (22.67 kgs), and can be no longer than one times (1x) larger than the user. They cannot lift the object higher than 10 feet (3.04 meters) upwards. The user can begin to move objects, themselves, or others in the air, but they cannot float more than 20 feet (2.09 meters) away.

• Teleport. The user has developed a stronger understanding of teleportation.

• Limitations: The user can teleport up to 70 feet (21.3 meters) away from their current position. They may only use this ability three (3) times during an entire Chapter.

• Ice Storm. The user can generate a storm of ice and snow out of their own breath which create slippery surfaces and small, painful shards of ice.

• Limitations: Can only affect a 20 foot (2.09 meters) radius around a fixed point. Targets in the affected radius will take tangible damage and may slip and fall prone on a critical failure to escape it. The storm lasts for ten (10) minutes.

• Spears. The user can create long spears of ice, including out of blood.

• Limitations: The user can only create six (6) spears at a given time, those spears can only be the length of their body. They can create spears out of blood from their own exposed injuries out of desperation, or any that is available on the ground. They cannot use blood from other living things.

ABILITIES

• Orbital. The user has mastered telekinesis, lifting or manipulating items they know the position of, including themselves and others.

• Limitations: The user does not have to have the object in line of sight, but must know where it is. The object cannot be more than 80 lbs (36.28 kgs), and can be no longer than two times (2x) larger than the user. They cannot lift the object higher than 15 feet (4.57 meters) upwards. The user can begin to move objects, themselves, or others in the air, but they cannot float more than 40 feet (12.19 meters) away.

• Spatial Awareness. The user is comfortable enough to teleport that they can begin to teleport other targets with them.

  • Limitations: The user must be touching the target. Can only teleport one (1) target at a time, up to 100 feet (30.48 meters) away. This ability can only be used three (3) times during an entire Chapter.

• Polar Vortex. The user can generate a powerful storm of cold and ice, which generates hurtling spears of jagged ice and slippery conditions.

• Limitations: Can only affect a 50 foot (15.24 meters) radius around a fixed point. Targets in the affected radius may slip and fall prone on failure to escape it. Spears are powerful enough to kill an enemy up to two times (2x) that of the user upon critical success. The storm lasts for fifteen (15) minutes.

• Ice Burn. The user can inflict freezing damage to targets they touch or breath by coating a part of them in ice. 

• Limitations: The user must be within 10 feet (3.04 meters) away from the target to utilize breath. The damage is enough to permanently cripple one or more limbs of a target up to two times (2x) the size of the user, or eliminate undead, on critical success.

• Choke. The user can begin to make the air around them as thin as it would be at a high altitude, making it difficult for others to breathe.

• Limitations: This does not completely draw oxygen out of the air. This only effects a radius of 20 feet (6.09 meters) around a fixed point. This ability lasts for ten (10) minutes. Other Purple Souls, along with non-living targets (ie. spirits, undead) are immune.

SIDE EFFECTS: For Purple Souls, they are controlled by a sense of privacy; guarded, aloof, maybe even cynical, they stereotypically are known for keeping secrets or wanting to shift quickly away from uncomfortable situations instead of facing them head on. As a side effect, this can sometimes make it easy to ice others out, or self-sabotage in an effort to flee a problem alone, or keep a very dangerous secret.
